Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters, especially when you are reaching out about something personal. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we do not, and how we protect you.
Our privacy-first promise
GamblingHelp Asia is a free, independent, public-interest help resource. We are not a gambling operator and not a government body. We exist to share clear information and point you toward trusted help, so we have no reason to build a profile of you. We collect as little as possible, and we will never sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone.
If you want to understand who runs this site and why, our about page explains our purpose and how we stay independent.
The self-assessment runs entirely in your browser
Our self-assessment is designed to be private by default. When you answer the questions, the calculation happens on your own device using your browser. Your answers and your result are not sent to us, not saved on our servers, and not shared with any third party.
- We do not store your answers in any database.
- We do not link your result to your name, phone number, or email.
- When you close or refresh the page, your answers are gone.
- You can take it as many times as you like, anonymously.
We built it this way on purpose. Many people feel ashamed or worried when they first look at their gambling. You deserve to explore that quietly and safely, with no record kept.
Analytics, cookies, and what little we measure
To understand whether this site is actually helping people, we may use privacy-respecting analytics. This collects aggregate, non-identifying information only, such as which pages are visited most, roughly how many people use the site, and which country or region traffic comes from at a high level. We use this to improve our content, not to identify you.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not build marketing profiles. Any cookies or similar storage are limited to what keeps the site working and to this basic aggregate measurement. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work.
Helplines and external links
When you contact a helpline we mention, you are dealing directly with that service, not with us. For example, calls to the PAGCOR National Problem Gambling Helpline (02) 8248-9568 or the NCMH Crisis Hotline 1553 are handled by those organisations and governed by their own privacy policies and confidentiality rules. We never see, hear, or receive your call or its contents.
Our pages also link to reputable outside websites, such as PAGCOR, the National Center for Mental Health, Gamblers Anonymous, and Gambling Therapy. Once you leave GamblingHelp Asia, the privacy practices of those sites apply, not ours. We encourage you to read their policies.
You can find the full list of trusted contacts on our get help page, all of which are free and confidential.
Children and protecting young people
This site shares information for adults. In the Philippines, the legal age for casino gambling is 21 and over, and online and other forms of gambling are restricted to adults. Our content is intended for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian worried about a young person, our resources for families may help, and you can call the helplines above for confidential guidance.
Contact us about privacy
If you have a question about your privacy, want to know what (if any) information we hold, or simply want to understand how the site works, you can email us at [email protected]. Because we collect so little, in most cases there is no personal data for us to look up or delete.
This page is general information about our practices and is not legal or medical advice. Reaching out for help, in any form, is a sign of strength, not weakness, and support is always free and confidential.
